Why It Suits a Utility Space
A resin floor is seamless, so there is nowhere for oil or water to sit.
It cleans with a mop, it takes point loads from jacks and racking, and it brightens a space that usually has no natural light.
At Big Easy Flooring we lay seamless epoxy floors for homes and businesses across New Orleans, from Metairie over to Covington and Mandeville. Contact us and we will measure the rooms and price the job.
We lay seamless resin floors for garages, workshops, warehouses and commercial spaces.
An epoxy system bonds to the slab and becomes part of it, which is why it shrugs off oil, hot tires and dropped tools in a way a coating sitting on top never does.

Epoxy is only as good as its bond, and the bond is made during preparation.
Grinding the slab, dealing with existing coatings and testing for moisture are what separate a floor that lasts from one that lifts in sheets.
A resin floor is seamless, so there is nowhere for oil or water to sit.
It cleans with a mop, it takes point loads from jacks and racking, and it brightens a space that usually has no natural light.
Resin floors need cure time between coats, and that time is not negotiable.
Planning around it is part of the job, particularly in a space that has to go back into use on a date.
Four steps, and you know what happens at each one before we start.

Build thickness, finish and any non-slip additive, chosen for the traffic the floor actually takes.
We look at the slab, test it for moisture, and identify anything already coated that has to come off.
The slab is mechanically ground to give the resin something to key into. This is where the whole result is decided.
Applied in coats with the cure time between them respected, because rushing that is what causes a floor to fail early.
Lifting in sheets is a bond failure, and a bond failure is a preparation failure. Either the slab was not ground properly or it was not dry.
Bubbling and pinholing usually means moisture in the slab pushing through as the resin cured, which is exactly what the moisture test exists to prevent.
A floor that has gone slippery has usually been polished by cleaning rather than worn. That can be corrected without relaying it.
Sweep the grit and wash with a neutral cleaner or a scrubber drier. Resin floors are easier to clean than almost anything else, which is most of why people specify them.
Deal with spills of anything aggressive reasonably promptly. Resin is chemically resistant, not chemically immune.
Put mats or boards where a jack or a stand lands repeatedly. Point loading is the one thing a resin floor does not enjoy.
No two epoxy flooring jobs price the same, because no two rooms are sitting on the same thing.
We will not quote a rate over the phone, because a rate without a measure is a guess with a number on it. We come out, measure, test what needs testing and put it in writing.
Not over a coating that is failing. The old coating comes off first or the new floor comes off with it.
It can, which is exactly why the slab is moisture tested before anything is specified.
It can be, and that is why a non-slip additive is worth discussing for a garage or a wet plant floor.
Longer than you can walk on it. The free consultation is where you get the timeline for your own slab.
