It Is a Finish, Not a Repair
Staining will not hide a crack, a patch or a power-float mark. If anything it makes them more visible.
Where the slab needs work, that work happens first and we price it honestly.
At Big Easy Flooring we stain and seal concrete floors for homes and businesses across New Orleans, from Metairie over to Covington and Mandeville. Contact us and we will measure the rooms and price the job.
Staining colors the slab itself rather than putting a layer on top of it.
The result keeps the character of the concrete, including its variation, and then gets sealed so it can be lived on.

Stain reacts with the concrete, so the finish follows whatever is already in the slab.
That variation is the appeal, and it is also why a sample panel on your own slab tells you more than any photograph.

The seal is what makes a stained slab practical. It is also what wears.
Knowing when to re-seal, and using the right cleaner in the meantime, is most of what keeps the floor looking right.
Four steps, and you know what happens at each one before we start.

Stain reacts with the concrete, so a sample panel on your own slab tells you more than any photograph can.
We look at the slab, its condition and anything already on it, because stain has to reach bare concrete.
Existing coatings come off and defects are dealt with, because staining makes them more visible rather than less.
Applied, neutralized, then sealed. The seal is what makes a stained slab practical to live on.
The most common complaint is that it does not look like the sample, which is why the sample should be on your slab rather than someone else's.
Patchy color usually follows something already in the concrete: a repair, a power-float mark, or where a wall used to stand. Stain reveals that history rather than hiding it.
A dull, marking floor means the seal has worn through. That is maintenance rather than failure.
Sweep and damp mop with a neutral cleaner. The color is in the concrete and will not lift, but the seal above it will wear.
Re-seal when the floor stops repelling water. In a busy room that might be every couple of years; in a quiet one, far less often.
Keep harsh cleaners off it. They attack the seal, not the color, but the seal is what you are protecting.
No two stained concrete flooring jobs price the same, because no two rooms are sitting on the same thing.
We will not quote a rate over the phone, because a rate without a measure is a guess with a number on it. We come out, measure, test what needs testing and put it in writing.
Most can, but the result depends on the slab. A sample panel is the only reliable way to see what yours will do.
The color is in the concrete, so it does not lift like a paint. The seal above it is what needs maintaining.
No. The stain has to reach the concrete, so any existing coating comes off first.
It can be, depending on the seal. There are non-slip options and we will raise them for a wet area.
